On November 1, 2018, “China For the World ” 2018 Energy Infrastructure Cooperation Forum was held by GE Company in Beijing. Wang Jianping, chairman of the Board attended the meeting.
Wang Jianping expressed that, in the past five years, Energy China had been speeding up its integration with the “Belt and Road” initiative. On the one hand, Energy China transformed itself from being simply an engineering, construction & equipment supplier to a comprehensive solutions provider; on the other hand, it adjusted its business models, from being a EPC contractor only to an integration of investment, construction and operation. Energy China not only made efforts to consolidate its business in the power sector, but also expand to more non-power areas. Through all these efforts, the company had entered into the fast lane of development for international business. In the process of going global, Energy China actively fulfilled the social responsibility as a central SOE and benefited the local people with its achievements. Wang said, as the full implementation of“Belt and Road”construction entered into new phase, overseas energy infrastructure projects would be more promising. China's EPC enterprises must seize new opportunities for development, actively implement the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, and pursue win-win cooperation among all parties.
Before the Forum, Wang Jianping met with Duan Xiaoying, GE's senior vice president and China CEO. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on strengthening cooperation in project early development, investment and financing, and witnessed the signing of a Teaming Agreement between NEPC of Energy China and GE for Delivering Competitive Aero Derivative Plant Solutions.
It is reported that this is the fifth consecutive year that GE China has held an energy infrastructure forum in China. More than 600 people from government agencies, financial institutions and China’s EPC companies have participated in the Forum.
