Wang Jianping Meets with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa

On April 2, Wang Jianping, chairman of the Board of Energy China met with  Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa during his state visit to China at Diaoyutai State Guest Hotel in Beijing.

Wang thanked President for the meeting amidst his busy schedule and introduced about the overall strength of Energy China and the development and achievements for international business of China Gezhouba Group (CGGC), one of the leading subsidiaries of Energy China. He mentioned that, Energy China is one of the largest comprehensive solutions providers for the power industry in China and globally, ranking 4th on the ENR’s “The Top 150 Global Design Firms” list and 11th on the ENR’s “The Top 250 Global Contractors” list in 2017, respectively, as well as 312th among “The Fortune Global 500” in 2017. With strong capabilities across the full industry chain, namely in power planning, survey design, construction and contracting, equipment manufacturing, investment and operation, Energy China provides customers with one-stop integrated solutions and full life-cycle project management services. CGGC Group, one of the most competitive listed companies in China, was the main contractor for the Three Gorges Project, the largest Hydro Power Station in the world. Africa is among the key markets targeted by Energy China for international business, now operating in 48 African countries. As the hub of the southern African region, Zimbabwe with its prominent geographical advantage has remained a major strategic focus for Energy China. He hoped that Energy China would work closely with the related parties of Zimbabwe in collaboration of the key projects through EPC or investment.

Emmerson Mnangagwa recognized Energy China and CGGC's overall strength in infrastructure construction, especially in the fields of electric power and energy construction. He welcomed Energy China and CGGC to participate in the key projects of Zimbabwe. He hoped that Energy China would send the technical team to Zimbabwe in discussion with Zimbabwean government departments and the local enterprises.

Wang highly appreciated the concern and support by Mr. President. He expressed that in response to the invitation by Mr. President, Energy China would work actively with Zimbabwean government in enhancing the collaboration of the related projects in practical terms, thus making contribution to the promotion of bilateral trade.
