Energy China Hosts Central and Eastern European Power Market Symposium

On the morning of June 12, 2018, Energy China hosted the Central and Eastern European Power Market Symposium (“Symposium”) on the theme of “Building together and wining together”in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Parliament, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Energy of Lithuania; the World Wind Energy Association; governments’ energy agencies, embassies in Lithuania, energy companies and financial institutions from Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Estonia and other central and eastern European countries attended the Symposium.

Speech made by Wang Jianping in the Symposium

In his speech, Wang Jianping introduced about the overall development of Energy China, and reviewed the history and achievements of energy cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China. In 2013, North China Power Engineering Co., Ltd. of China Power Engineering Consulting Group (“NCPE”), a subsidiary of Energy China acquired the equity of the Lithuanian Power Grid Design Institute, which promoted the new process of energy cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe. In the past five years, Energy China had carried out extensive cooperation with Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and other countries in the energy field. A batch of high-quality energy projects, e.g. Stanari thermal power plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina have set a good example of win-win cooperation. He also mentioned that Energy China is willing to work hand in hand with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and seek common development, and make new contributions to the traditional friendship between China and the people of Central and Eastern Europe.

Subsidiaries of Energy China have entered into several memoranda of understanding or project contracts with energy companies in Lithuania and Ukraine, during the Symposium: 

NCPE has entered into a memorandum of understanding with UAB koncernas “ACHEMOS GRUPE” in Lithuania. Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding, both parties will cooperate to jointly develop the wind power, photovoltaic power, biomass power and other new energy projects in the Central and Eastern Europe regions. 

Signing Ceremony during the Symposium

China Energy Engineering Group Investment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Energy China, has entered into the memorandum of understanding with UAB FMI “Orion Securities” in Lithuania. Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding, both parties agreed to jointly make investments in conventional power plants projects, renewable energy projects and power transmission infrastructures projects in the Central and Eastern Europe regions.

NCPE has entered into the master contracting agreement for the 200MW photovoltaic power project in Ukraine with METROPOLIYA MC LTD in Ukraine, the total investment amount of the project is US$253 million.
