View Tower of Ngari-Central Tibet Power Grid Connection Project Passed Full-scale Test

On September 26th, the 500 KV View Tower of the Ngari-Central Tibet Power Grid Connection Project, which was designed by the Southwest Electric Power Design Institute (SWEPDI), a subsidiary of Energy China, passed its full-scale test. Up to now, the 200 KV View Tower and 500 KV View Tower, both of which were designed by SWEPDI, have successfully passed the full-scale test. They will provide strong technical support for the construction of the Ngari-Central Tibet Power Grid Connection Project.

So far, the Ngari-Central Tibet Power Grid Connection Project is the world’s most challenging power transmission/transformation project at the highest altitude. In engineering construction, popularizing the application of power transmission line view towers can help power transmission lines integrate into natural and cultural landscapes alongside.

The successful completion of this test promotes the design of China’s power transmission line view towers and marks the shift from theoretical research to engineering practice in this field.
