On December 8, Energy China won the EPC bidding of Wuliang Ye's Vinasse Biomass Cogeneration Project, which is the first project of its kind in the world. The project is located in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, and it is going to be equipped with an 130 t/h circulating fluidized bed boiler and a 20MW back-pressure steam turbine set. By burning the residue of the liquor-making process, the project will produce steam for heat and power generation. The project will not only provide a portion of needed steam for liquor brewing, but also recycle the vinasse.
