On September 19 during the global environmental voluntary activity, namely Clean Up the World Weekend (CUW Weekend), the employees from the project department of China Gezhouba Group, a subsidiary of Energy China (@EnergyChinaNews) in Kuwait teamed up at Khuwaisat beach for cleaning up garbage and castoffs. CUW Weekend is the largest environment cleanup activity in the world, and it is the first time that Kuwait has participated in it. Despite the hot weather, the team had collected more than 40 bags of garbage at the beach after three-hours of hard work. According to statistics, more than 13 million tons of plastic garbage is discharged into the sea every year. It has become a deadly killer of marine ecology, with its weight expected to surpass that of fish by 2050. Every bit counts!
