Located in Karachi, Pakistan, Hualong One nuclear reactor (Unit 2) of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant was connected to the grid on March 18. Energy China has participated in the design and construction of the project. This is the world’s second Hualong One nuclear reactor, with the first one in China. After completion, this unit is expected to generate 10 billion kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the annual consumption of 3.12 million tons of coal, 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emission and the afforestation of over 7000 trees.
