With Energy China as the EPC contractor, the Unit 1 of the Jordan Attarat Oil Shale Power Plant was synchronized with the national grid. It is the largest oil shale power plant in the world. The project has adopted an advanced oil shale circulating fluidized bed boiler, over 70% of which is made from China. By now, 96% of the whole project has been completed. After put into operation, it will generate 3.7 billion kWh of electricity, which can meet nearly one fifth of the domestic need in Jordan.
