The first unit of Changlongshan Pumped Storage Power Station was officially put into operation on June 25. Located in Anji County, China’s eastern Zhejiang Province, it is equipped with six 350 MW reversible pump-turbine generators with an installed capacity of 2100 MW. China Gezhouba Group, a subsidiary of Energy China, undertook the construction of the water delivery system, underground plant, lower reservoir projects, etc.

All the units of the power station are planned to be put into operation at the end of July 2022. By then, it will provide 2.435 billion kWh of clean energy annually as the largest "power bank" for the east China. It will also be expected to save 210,000 tons of coal, and reduce 420000 tons of carbon dioxide and 2800 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions annually.
