China's First Digital DC Microgrid Substation Mutual AidDemonstration Project in the Expressway Service Area Undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Power Engineering Co.,Ltd. Started Construction.
On November 10, China’sfirst digital DC microgrid substation mutual aiddemonstration project in the expressway service area undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Power Engineering Co.,Ltd.–The PowerSource, Grid, Loadand Energy Storage IntegratedCharging Facility Projectat Dahuai Service Area of Shenyang-HaikouExpressway-was officially put into construction. ,Once completed and pur into use, the project will add 84 charging spaces in both the east and west sections of the Dahuai Service Area. The newly built charging facilitywill feature charging guns with an average power output exceeding 72 kilowatts/per gun, and among them, there are seven 600A liquid-cooled supercharging gunscapable of achieving the fastest charging speedofup to "one kilometer per second."
The project will also serve as a pilot for cutting-edge technologies, including megawatt-level power electronic transformers and DC inlet wire charging piles. Through the use of new flexible interconnection technology for DC bus, it will establish a DC microgrid within the service areaandwill lead the way in enabling DC mutual aidbetween different substations in the service areas on both sides of the expressway, enhancing efficiencybymore than 5% compared to the traditional AC coupling. Such abreakthrough will significantly alleviate the "tidal charging" problem that has troubled thenew energy vehicle owners traveling along the expresswayduring majorholiday periods.
