On November 20th, main transformers of Cote d’Ivoire 46MW Biomass Power Plant undertaken by the Consortium of China Energy International Group Co., Ltd. and China Energy Construction Group Co., Ltd. on an EPC turnkey basis have been erected in place, laying a solid foundationfor the following back energization.
The Project is designed to install two main transformers with a capacity of 31.5MVAeach. The total mass of each transformer body reaches 65t, with a length of 6.58m, a width of 5.17m and a height of 5.73m.
The Project, located in Aboisso east of Abidjan, is the largest biomass power plant in West Africa. After completion, the Project will facilitate the energy structure transformation and ecological environment protection. It’s expected to generate 34.8 million KWH of clean electricity, which will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 180,000 tonsand meet the power demand of 1.7 million locals. During its construction and operation, more than 1000 full-time jobs will be provided to the locals, which will effectively improve local livelihood, employment and economic development.
