CEEC Signs EPC Contract for 125MW PV Project in Iraq

China Energy International Group, Co., Ltd., a CEEC subsidiary, signed an EPC contract for the 125MW solar project in Erbil, Iraq, with a consortium composing Bros Power from Türkiye and Ster Group from Iraq, in Istanbul on September 6 local time.

This marks another milestone in CEEC’s efforts to expand in the Iraqi market, following the successful signing of the 1GW solar project in Ratawi in August.

Located in Erbil, northern Iraq, the project is a joint venture between Bros Power and Ster Group. It is the first phase of the 1GW project in Erbil and involves the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of a 125MW solar power station and a 132kV substation.

The project construction is set to be completed within 12 months. Once operational, it is expected to generate 259 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, meeting the increasing power demands in Iraq and contributing to the optimization of the country's power infrastructure.

Being committed to taking a leading role, China Energy International Group, Co., Ltd. will adhere to the key development principle of innovation, greenness, digital intelligence and integration, and integrate its advantageous resources to ensure the successful and timely implementation of the project.
