China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. (CGGC), a subsidiary of CEEC, received on January 20 the bid-winning notice for No. 2 section project and No. 4 section project of Saad Al-Abdullah New City Infrastructure in Kuwait, with a bid amount of approximately 4.1 billion yuan (around 563 million US dollars).

This success marks another milestone for CEEC in the Kuwait market.

Situated approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Kuwait City, the Saad Al-Abdullah New City spans about 64 square kilometers. It stands as a flagship project in Kuwait Vision 2035 and is a key initiative currently underway by the Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare.

The project aims to construct over 20,000 housing units and supporting facilities, catering to the housing needs of at least 150,000 residents upon completion.

The No. 2 section includes eight sectors with a total area of approximately 10.93 square kilometers, while No. 4 section comprises seven sectors totaling around 14.45 square kilometers.

The scope of work primarily involves construction of earthwork platforms, blocks and roads, pipeline systems, communication systems, and substations.

CGGC has considered Kuwait a key strategic market for investment and construction since their involvement in the Subiya Desalination Project back in 2002. The company successfully clinched the No. 2 section of Saad Al-Abdullah New City Infrastructure in Kuwait, valued at around 8.1 billion RMB, and broke ground the same year.
