Recently, the civil works for the indoor GIS building of the NGCP Taguig 500kV Substation Project constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (CEEC JSPDI) were successfully completed. After passing the joint inspection and acceptance, the building was officially handed over to the electrical installation team, marking the project’s transition into the electrical installation phase.

The successful completion of the civil construction marks a key milestone in the project’s progress. With the completion of the main structure, interior finishing, fire protection, and ventilation systems of the GIS building, the site now meets the conditions required for electrical installation, providing a solid foundation for the installation of main equipment and subsequent commissioning.
The NGCP Taguig 500kV Substation is the first indoor GIS substation of the 500kV voltage level in the Philippines. Once completed, the project will significantly enhance the transmission capacity of the main power grid in Metro Manila, strengthen the structure of the Philippine national grid, and play an important role in alleviating power supply pressure and ensuring the load demand in key areas of the capital region.
