CEEC Signs Contracts for 128 MW Offshore Wind Power Project Cluster in Vietnam

Recently, China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (Energy China GEDI) signed EPC contracts with REE Corporation for the V1-3 Wind Power Plant Phase 2 project and the V1-5 and V1-6 Wind Power Plant Phase 2 project in Vietnam, ushering in a new chapter in China-Vietnam clean energy cooperation.

Both projects are located in Truong Long Hoa Ward, Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, with a total installed capacity of 128 MW. It is planned to install 8 MW wind turbines, representing the largest single-unit capacity so far deployed in Vietnam’s nearshore wind sector. Upon completion, the two projects are expected to generate 400 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to saving 116,900 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 311,000 tons. This will help Vietnam increase its proportion of clean energy and accelerate the achievement of its "net zero emissions" goal.

Previously, Energy China GEDI also signed a contract for the third phase (25 MW) of the Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant in Vietnam.
